True, what you say, but some people imagine to be strong enough to handle something & in their reaction actually showm that they aren't..."too much truth" so to speak or "too heavy a doctrine/dogma".

My viewpoint is this: if I am strong in some teaching/way of life...I won't easily fall for another one..."which comes along", neither do I feel threatened by one, because the "relativation" of whatever comes along takes place within my teaching dear to me...for if my teaching couldn't handle the situation without strengthening me, comforting me, then I'd say the same is in the need of a new teaching, better than that.

In a way, what you advocate is, it's up to our own risk?!I guess, there will be strong posts again & like OT2 argued with John 14:6, that could "easily" be challenged by someone having a different or no messiah...how could you be Napoleon, if I am Napoleon, that sort of thing...

From the Christian point of view I like the following quote to "calm down" a bit:

And if any hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. John 12:47,48

That settles for me also the false comparison with radicals, Taliban, crusaders & the like...they just got some food in the wrong throat.
