I like your sense of humor & with authors like the one of grandpas ghost journeys is really often quite a comic relief...
Well, what Susie posted was geared towards people with a sense of humor...at least that was part of the subject-title...what made/makes the whole thing funny is, when someone is actually taking those radiolisteners questions to Dr. so and so serious...
Don't misunderstand me, they are in a way serious questions, but obviously the listener is not himself convinced, that they are relevant for his
own life.If he/she is a learned atheist/agnostic/humanist...who knows quite well the Bible - many who are like that - then he/she knows, what problems/difficulties arise today for a Jew to follow the OT/law to every jot & tittle.
With the temple etc. gone/destroyed I don't see that either & would see a Jew or sympathiser caught up in quite a few difficulties...nevertheless the heart of the law is to love God with all your heart & your neighbour as yourself...there are quite a few very good teachers out there who discern very well, what is still a valid "left over" from the OT for Christians, as well as everybody...since Dr so and so is apparently a Jew, she might not know that Paul had his own views about homosexuality & obviously Paul knew the old references as well. The point is, who are the listeners of the radioprogram of that doctress...very doubtful all Jews & they have anyway a problem without the temple etc...so her advice was in any event a bit insufficient."For by the law is the knowledge of sin"...that is the benefit I still see in quoting it as Dr.Laura...did...but you cannot keep the whole law...if you you keep one, you have to keep the others as weel, if one thinks one is under the law...likewise, if one has broken one law one has broken the whole...(and is under the c u r s e !)
So the "joke" drove home some point(s)...but it's short of the solution.
And it was just my observation, that you used the the joke as a vehicle for your coming out h e r e, not in general, and since I didn't read all your posts I couldn't even have spoken with absoluteness, that this was your coming out here & I didn't pretend/mean that absoluteness anyway...
Have a nice week.
