I thought this answer was good. I had no idea the rabbis had dealt with this very issue and had addressed it. This is in response to Susie's post btw where she reposted a humorous thing about Jewish laws being outdated, but if they were still in effect, how could Jews play football?
I know for several posters, the focus of Susie's post was Dr. Laura's comment about gays, but for me, what stood out was the questions that it posed about all whether the Jewish law is outdated or not. The questions were thought-provoking and to me it's interesting to see a thought-out Jewish answer, whether I fully agree with it or not.
