I know this is going to be touchy with some of the stronger Christians out there, but have you ever stepped back from Christianity and realised just how bizarre it must seem to another religion? I mean, the whole communion admonition is very strange, and while a person who was raised as a Christian will understand all the meanings to the ritual and the symbolization, someone from another religion won't understand it. They just pass it off as the strange belief of the Christian religion.
What about all the powers Jesus had (has)? I mean, doesn't this seem close to witchcraft? Talking to demons (well, casting them out), healing people, walking through walls and on the water, talking to departed persons (Moses and Elisha--or was it Elijah?)
What about seeing angels, or talking with them, or the belief that God can even speak to you through an animal--as in Balaam's ass? Doesn't it strike you as something that may be weird to a Hindu or Buddhist or even athiest? Or the belief in the Holy Spirit as being just that, a spirit of some sort that gives us extra power?
What the Bible says about the endtime and the powers God will give to His children, calling fire down from heaven and other stuff, Christians accept it as part of the religion, but to others of a different religion it is quite bizarre.
Have you ever stepped back from Christianity to inspect the beliefs of other religions? Many people believe Hinduism is a worship of several gods, but in reality it is only the worship of one god in that god's many different forms, as a protector, as a female, etc. Doesn't Christianity have something similar in the Trinity?
Buddhism swept away the belief in a God and embraces the belief in ourselves and coming closer to harmony with the universe. That your final journey brings you to a point of complete harmony with the world, energy and life around you. Is Christianity somewhat similar in that the goal is to become as close to God as you can?
And why is it that three of the main religions of the world all originate from belief in the same God and yet are at constant war with each other? (Islam, Judaism and Christianity?) with each claiming to be the true belief?
