so nice of you to think of me that way.

I'm sure the problem with Turkey admitting to the genocide of the Armenians, forced deportation, etc., would mean they may be forced to give up the land they stole. That will never happen, ergo, they will never admit to it. I understand there are some intellectuals within the country who are angry that the government won't own up to it. The rest of the people have no idea, all that has been erased from books, literature, etc., etc. You know, with the new law they have making it a crime to do anything against Turkey (dang, I forgot what they called it), very few people can speak out safely.

My grandmother's sister came to visit when I was quite young. She had been taken by a Turk when she was 8 years old after her parents were slaughtered (my great grandparents), and he later married her. When he died, her daughters in law found out she was Armenian Christian and disowned her. Pretty sad, eh? One of the sons came here for awhile to get an engineering job. I'm trying to find out what happened to him. The point is, they still have an ingrained animosity to anything Armenian. Sadly, our own government keeps bowing to the demands of Turkey and won't own up to it either. It just seems to get sadder and sadder for poor Armenia.

As for the Japanese, they could find that this may come back to haunt them as the countries around North Korea know that the first to go in an attack would be Japan and they have enough animosity to almost wish it rather than doing anything to try and stop it. Too bad.
