it was still wrong, and i told my mother so.
i don't see the torah protecting anyone from abuse when it says you could abuse slaves but just not to death.
believe me i know from experience there are a lot of degrees of brutality before the reaching kind that causes death within a day or two.
have you tried talking o your children and negotiating with them?
beatings or spankings are wrong. period.
