I like the way you think. We are walking contradictions. But my point was that as far as corporal punishment goes, some people are very comfortable administering it to others or supporting it being administered to others. Some people justify these actions with rules but others don't need justification because they like it. What for some may be sadism, for others is a willingness to remain blind.
Maybe it is not always in the eye of the beholder but in the eye of those who are suffering it.
