Thanks, Jo. It is a touchy subject. I know we went over the top in our disciplining of our chidren because after all, we were spanked and didn't know any difference. Then Berg went over the top with it. I remember a brother telling me I had to spank my toddler until he stopped crying. I refused. I thought that was the most lunatic thing to advocate. It's not something I feel good about. Our last child, we hardly spanked him at all. I could probably count on one hand, I would certainly rather find other avenues whenever possible.
And yes, we do have those stupid laws here in Calif. I don't think it's right to subjugate a whole set of parents because of a few foolish parents. Even if a parent agrees on abortion and the daughter just doesn't want to say anything, then there is no one there to hold her hand or walk her through it. Besides, the daughter may change her mind after talking to her parents, who else knows their children best?
My daughter works as a substitute teacher and usually gets called to the inner city. She told me horror stories that were told to her by her co-workers about how their very young black sisters were being treated at planned parenthood (sorry, not a fan of them. They didn't like it either. And yes, it has become a form of birth control, like it or not.
