I am with Lydia on this one but it is a fine line to walk. I have seen too many tempers fly off while "correcting", physically and verbally. I'd rather not use the word "conversing".
On the other hand, I agree with you but only for the "fanatics", as Lydia [sort of] calls them. It is a personal call but it is also a matter of knowing one's self and that's is very seldon done by people who have abusive tendencies. It is in those cases when the law needs to step in and grad the abuser by the hair and throw him/her in jail. But that is also a tough call. Sometimes Child Protective Services acts too quickly, and they don't have it easy either. It is a difficult topic.
