It would. I respond well to good manners not so to to the opposite. I can't believe people are so blind here to that here. I have never read anything from Lydia that is ill mannered and there are many others. Why do people take it from Acheick? By the way, it is not that she is dumb, I don't believe that for a second otherwise she would still be in TF. She is the one who feels dumb herself every so often. Sometimes she even acts dumb too.
