I have the same feelings about our past and how in the present we could really support each other despite our differences, whatever they may be.
Coming out of a high control cult is our common experience. My oldest son is a staunch republican and I am not that at all. lol. But I love him and respect him in his choices because they are HIS and not mine and they are not destructive just because they are different from mine. In other ways we are very similar.
