Paramahansa Yogadanta - you are right. It is Yogananda. Thanks.

Youy are also right in that my declarative "proclamations" (funny word) cover a lot of people. I am working on the statistical assumption backed my observation. Most churches are predominantly (the majority of people) just church goers. I start there, and assume people would understand this reality. In practical terms, everybody is a vast majority.

I happen to agree about the existence of two churches. The Church can be understood as the established organized groups of denominations and congregations. But there is a deeper church formed by a minority of those whose lives is less in the physical organizations as in the Kingdom of God. Would an ex member of a cult be a spiritual baby? I am sorry but because I believe in this scheme I am not qualified to judge. But at the same time I can see the spiritual growth and the methods of growth that take place in the organized church, and I can judge. Some things are of this world, and we can judge accordingly. Other things are of the spirit and man cannot understand them to judge them.

Having said all of this, am I condemning Christian churches? No, because many Christians dwell in them and use them to do their work.

But now, as far as I know Yogananda died in the early 50s, how could he have even known The Beatles? I think you have somebody else in mind. I am not talking about TM at all. I guess I was unsuccessful at communicating. Sorry.

The bastardizing Christianity was not the direct work of Yogananda but of its ideology as it spread post-WWII. It eventually popularized New Age and the explosion of everything goes. Yet, at the same time, because all of the above existed in potentiality Yogananda teachings found ground and the potentiality became actual. Our present is the future they envisioned because of the passivity and divisions of the Christian Church.

I appreciate your sense of humor at poking fun my frail temper. A sound mind can do wonders.

Peace
