Thinker, I am so sorry. I have been thinking about similar things, that many of us who have been under so much during a critical maturing period of our life have learn to instinctively react in ways that others get hurt.
I was also thinking that in spite of anything we may say to each other, we sort of understand each other at a very deep level nobody else could.
I am aware that not all ex-members feel the same way. Some simply seem oblivious while other deny wrongdoings or problems. Current members are even worse. But in spite of all of that hard shell I like to think that at some deep level all of them also share a little sorrow for what was lost. Friendship is valuable, that much I have learned so far. Thank you sharing your story and, through that, validating our commonalities.
