There are some contemporary "Christian" groups that advocate violence and acts war--this would be racist fringe groups like the Hutareem, who have been active in my area:

There are also the Christian Identity groups that engage in hate crimes and acts of terrorism:

While I don't believe these people are Christians, it doesn't matter what I think, because they still attach the name of Christ to their violent, racist ideologies and actions.

Here is another "Christian" group that preaches hatred and incites violence in many of the places they show up to witness to their version of biblical truth:

Again, it doesn't matter if I think they are in need of an encounter with the Holy Spirit and a conversion to the Way. These people are absolutely convinced they are true Christian believers and followers of biblical truth. I'm sure they would tell you that I'm walking the wide road straight to damnation.

So how do you know whether or not the Imam who condemned the Pakistani Christian woman to a death sentence for blasphemy is any more representative of true Islam than the people in Christian Identity, Hutarees, or Westboro Baptists represent true Christianity?

How is it differant for an ignorant, backward Imam to call for the death sentence on a Christian woman accused of blasphemy than for Fred Phelps (an ignorant, backward Baptist preacher) to call for the death sentence on homosexuals?
