I don't remember a lot of names, Hezekiah, Apollos, Mortichai, these names for sure were at Kentucky farm. I played the guitar and sang for the flock at devotional time. I milked the goats and helped birth the twins. Also, sat all night with Sara, a goat with pneumonia and comforted her as she died. Rode horses in the Kentucky blue grass fields. I remember one old horse who loved to eat the field corn, so every time I took her out for a ride that is where she took me everyday. I was so young and naive. Life was simple and God's love so pure. I believed I was following my Savior. I believed the world was corrupt and we were His true followers. I believed we were living as God intended. It has taken a life time to recover. In 1985, after a failed suicide attempt, I found my path again in 12 Step Recovery groups. Things started to make since again and I started my journey back to God. Today my faith is full and I believe again, in His grace, His love and the sacrifice He made when He sent His Son to save us. I found this site and wondered who made it after leaving the COG. We were told if we left, God would turn His back on us, but the God of my understanding today will never turn His back on me. His love is endless.
