Yeah, I too feel quite calm as far as no end time fear. But some years after I left when the first Gulf war was occuring I can remember watching the anti aircraft tracers going out and the scud missles coming in and it did trigger something in me even though I had rejected the family teachings. I'm thinking it has to also affect others that may have left more recently or that left but continued in that same over sensitive gear of preparing refuges or wondering since something is centering on Gadhafi, does it have something to do with THE endtime.
I was also wondering how TF is now interpreting current events. People that either joined and are still in, or who were raised in it. And then for thos who are out, I have to wonder if any of the dis-ease of that sort of constant vigilance for so many years in the past, even long ago, is stirring some anxiety related to embedded fears from years ago. Current events are worrisome, even if never in TF with the serious nuclear disaster unfolding as well as all the unrest and wars in the middle east. And yes, there are clear environmental concerns as demand for food, fuel, etc rises with the population each decade. I think you are right that with some people there was a condition they were predisposed to that would be more pertinent when it comes to overactive conspiracy fears.
Me? I'd like to just go open a bar on a island (less seismically active one) and just live out the last years in as much peace and denial as possible. So sad what happened recently in Japan and in Haiti. I'll have to check out that group, but if it is private, don't know if I'd want to sign up for it, lol!
