A Musician I Admire

I went to a gospel concert last night that was totally awesome. It was a live recording/performance of someone I work with--his name is Quan Howell. Man (or I should say God), Quan rocked the house big time! I'm still pumped from all that Holy Ghost energy.

This cat (Quan) had us dancing in the aisles. Now, that's my kind of worship! I love the black church. Sometimes I think I must be a black girl trapped in an old white lady's body.

Something one of the preachers said at Quan's concert explained a lot about him to me. "Praise is a lifestyle." Quan runs our department's mail room and printer services. He's one of those people whose face shines--literally shines--with the Spirit of God. I knew he was a believer the first time I met him. Day after day he's this upbeat guy--even when it's clear to me from the look in his eyes that he's under stress--he's always "up" in an almost supernatural way.

Here is one of his Youtube recordings. I can't get the sound card in my newly upgraded system to work, so I haven't heard it myself, but I know it's got to be awesome, because I've never heard this guy sing a false note--ever. He was the choir director at our office Christmas show--he got a rag-tag bunch of bureaucrats singing lovely Christmas carols within just 30 minutes of rehearsal.
