I have been exposed to a lot of American Black Christian culture, and the preaching styles are different; yes, but not intentionally the way you characterized them--your response kind of says a lot--you're not a white racist like Berg; are you? I hope not. He had a real hatred for almost everybody, but especially Blacks and Jews.
Televangelists, almost to a man, turn me off in extreme (mostly white; by the way!). I do like Tony Evans, and some others, despite any "Black style" of teaching/preaching. Christ is preached"; I figure.
Do you think you might still be projecting from your own TFI past, with the "penile false christ", and all? No offense; just curious.
Some spiritual filth (2 Cor 7:1) does take a while to be free from. I learned that from painful experience.
By the way--God's on your side--He hates fakery, too--He just doesn't hate people.
