It's a very big theme Skep...for one the Word of God is also the resurrected Jesus and the Jesus by the whom the world got created...God spoke and it was...the word of God never comes back void...that's why I have always been enriched by reading it.

Babies need milk without understanding the formula

With all the theology...surely the Word has been "dismantled" now...compared and whatnot...some specialists want to have us believe, how many contradictions etc. there are.
I took those challenges some time ago very serious, but so far I have always got my mind eased about it.

In the meantime it's the Holy Spirit...being promised to guide us into truth and the apostles were reminded of all that there was to say and I believe not an necessary yota fell to the ground...so I trust the Word of God is there in a book but also resurrected.

One amazing verse says...Simon followed afar off...when Jesus was interrogated...there can be closeness in a disciples life...but also understandable/sad distance.

It would be very preposterous of me, to suggest I am following very closely...though that is what our heart should yearn for...

I see there a difference...there are verses very easily being understood (concerning love for fellowman...few are barking against that...if anyone at all...can't remember anyone...so that is a basic message being understood and accepted)
there are other tenets...where there is at least the tendancy/danger for a vocal warfare given...

be it the theme of homosexuality...hell...paying the tithe...you name it

I believe women should cover their hair in prayer...but who of the "modern" women is still thinking along that way?...still reading the same Bible. It's almost offending them....just one theme among many

And what OT2 said, I agree with...in some spiritual exercises...rituals...one is just playing unnecessarily with fire...it was meant well and at times it pays to take such hints
