You talked about a left handed person choosing to write right handed and that it could be done. I then talked about how that was damaging to change as well, if orientation is truly left handed.
As far as American societal customs went, in my fathers younger years and even with some in my younger years, being left handed was equated with being the tares, on the left hand of God, to be tossed out and burned. So it was common practice for teachers and parents to slap, hit with a ruler, correct a child and use that bible verse if they wrote with a left handed orientation.
