God Has Tattoos, Lots of Them Sept. 13, 2011

In many Christian circles the idea of a tattoo is something that doesn’t belong on one’s body. (Leviticus19:28- 28 “‘Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.) (NIV)
If I was to tell you God has tattoos and has lots of them what would you say? In scripture it says that God does have tattoos and you and I are eternally blessed because He does. (Isaiah 49:16 16Behold, I have indelibly imprinted (tattooed a picture of) you on the palm of each of My hands; [O Zion] your walls are continually before Me.) (Amplified Bible)
If you can picture in your mind’s eye the immense hands of God, who with His hands created the world. In these same immense hands He has each of us engraved or tattooed in them.
Those who read this and know me personally, know some of my life and where I come from and been delivered from. Those who don’t know me I was a drug addict, and then part of a false religious cult for close to thirty years.
With the life I led and the things I did, I should be in a grave somewhere in the world. One thing made the difference though; I was a tattoo in God’s hands. Through it all He had a mission for me in this life. I didn’t know it way back when, but it is so clear now how He had me in His hands.
The wonderful thing to know is that each of us is a tattoo in His hands. Each of us is an individual with an individual story. God looks at us individually with great love, great hope, and with someone like me I believe with great patience when He looks at the millions of tattoos in His hands.
Know today and remember how great and how deep is the Father’s love is for you!
How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that left Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom
