Do you earnestly think...I have time to read Berg's drivel...why do you make such comments...are you referring to me or speaking to the "general public"...I don't have time to read again what I already did...but on my quest for truth I come across every now and then something Berg also upheld, coincidences

...would be an interesting list...like I said...he had plenty of teaching in his upbringing...so it is also a reflection of his time..pentecostalism that is.

I am not considering him a wise man and excellent teacher...the point for me was...although he erred so hugely...pls. take that now really as my ever stance...especially in moral regards...he just collected "daisies" on the roadside...things he heard and listened...so just Berg repeating it, doesn't make him the original thinker...nonetheless people could ponder about it, what has actually been some truth...we only realise that later by comparison...hearing/reading the same thing ... told already centuries before...obviously making Berg not the author...so who cares then and gets aggravated????

Since Constantine I figure too, you're about right...I came to the same conclusion...and I only copied that opinion of others...nonetheless the Word got preached...that is the important part...also the Word got preserved through all the different times and they were also very trying and difficult...we shouldn't talk down on them from our comfortable armchairs...although...sure...you're right...mixing "faith" with power became too big a quest...seeing the film about the Borgia-pope just recently was another piece in the puzzle...there are big tomes about the failure of the churches...
still there has always been the beauty of individual faith...that is my opinion.

Point is...we all will be judged...so taking that as a lesson/warning...I hope we do better...

for Macchiavelli I am afraid to have too little time, wikipedia would have to suffice...too much about politics I am afraid....Cicero sounded once interesting to me...but his volume collects dust in my shelves.

Merry Christmas to you
