Prayer Needed for Northern Nigeria
Christian students were among the nearly 30 people who were murdered in northern Nigeria on Monday night, October 1, as violence plaguing this part of the nation continues. The incident happened in an are
a of hostels built for college students. Among the victims were 19 students from a polytechnic school and three from a school of health technology. Two security guards and a retired soldier were also among the dead.
Sources say extremists went house to house, calling out specific people’s names and killing them immediately or questioning people and killing them according to their responses. Witnesses say some victims’ throats were slashed, while others were shot.
“The entire region of northern Nigeria is in extreme danger,” says a church leader in the nation. “All Christians are in a constant struggle for survival, both physically and spiritually. The people of northern Nigeria are in spiritual warfare, and we need to stand with them in prayer.”
