About the ‘Spiritual Director’ issue, in the above link you can read that Peter and Maria now “…are the spiritual and administrative directors of the Family International.”
As both spiritual and administrative directors, what seems to have happened is that they may have assumed a more powerful status than ever before. Superficially it may look like they have taken a step back and relaxed a bit, but the contrary may be true.
The title (spiritual director) is not an arbitrary chosen title, it is carefully chosen, but not by Peter and Maria. Obviously they may have secretly attended one or more of the numerous Spiritual Direction seminars themselves, for the title is not a Christian one, and nowhere to be found in the Bible, and for very good reasons. Of course all that is as expected, because over the years their doctrines have been anything but biblical or christian anyway.

A search using the words ‘spiritual director training’ ( ) will reveal that the term ‘Spiritual Director’ is pervasive in so-called spiritual direction or spiritual formation centers where the cornerstone is Jesuit doctrine, i.e. the monastic ‘Spiritual Exercises’ of Ignatius of Loyola. Never mind that nearly all kinds of religions and all types of mental trips are represented under this umbrella, the basis and the goal is the same, namely control of other people’s spiritual lives, and thus more or less their physical lives, i.e. brainwashing.
For those new to Jesuit doctrines, briefly, it’s end goal is assuming total power to an infallible church (pope) by whatever means and whatever strategies, in other words, it is practising Catholic Dogma to the letter, where the end justifies the means.

So all things considered, it is fascinating that Peter and Maria should have copied some of the very terms that come from these establishments.
