I've been thinking about that a lot lately, since I've been working under a Democratic administration (state level) the last two years after working under Republican leadership for 16 years before that. Dems have a reputation for having "zipper issues," with Bill Clinton being the epitome of what party networking power seems to be about. I don't think Obama is personally prone to this relational/governing style, but I am feeling a lot more sexual tension since the Democrats took over the statehouse across the street in 2006. With the Dems, playing the power game isn't just about who you know, but who you're sleeping with or willing to sleep with. With the Republicans, it was more like who you know and how well you could fill his or her trophy room with items of value.
Yah, those are stereotypes, but stereotypes exist for a reason.
