It depends on how you define "rightwing".
Most people tend to put nazis on the extreme right and communists on the extreme left. But in fact the left is totalitarian (both nazis and communists) and the extreme right is for minimalist government.
The family being totalitarian in nature was certainly leftist. But its cult of personality was fascist in nature so, some people might mis-interpret it as being on the right.
Berg was as leftist as Mao but he was as fascist as Hitler.
