LTE...reading your posts I can very often sympathise
with your grudges/feelings...I have asked myself very similar questions and run myself into very similar headaches/trouble...also post TFI...things you described...I shared some already b4 and for lack of time I didn't "jump" on that thread...

My take is this: in the Orient men were very valuable...even today...also guests ranked very high in respect...still until today...

figure the saying that we should hate our relatives...if we come to faith in the Lord Jesus.I was explained that as a babe, 1976...that it makes only sense by comparison...loving the heavenly Father and the Son much...much more than our earthly relatives....nevertheless it does say to honour father and mother and that is repeated in the NT...consequence: there is love for the parents...even more so if they love the Lord too...but "less"...if we can accept that...compared to the "top-priority"...the one where really life stems from...

Frankly, women really ranked super high in my life...that came very close to worship...of course knowing, that all that beauty...all those virtues must come from the Lord...

I don't doubt, that Lot thought similar,...also about his own dear daughters...

If I am not very mistaken, then Berg also used that in terms of sacrificing your own...at the minimum he used Lots incestual realtionship...while drunk...with his daughters.

Make another thought/step...closing the circle...about all the "sinning saints" ...(David e.g.)...through all the ages...also Christians...which never were completely perfect, but they believed in the ransom/price Jesus, paid for them...that makes them righteous...not their own works...Abraham believed God and that made him righteous...though we go through some process of "purification"/sanctification...from the onset of belöieving.

That thought/consideration of Lot also seems despicable for me...however, we also don't know the whole situation...and the angels took care of it their way ; ) ... showing that there was really no need for Lots offer...

I guess, you're right...that looks like a real big flaw...and TG...those people had no interest in those virgins/daughters...which shows to me, they were really into homosexuality...denied nowadays by the believing homosexuals
