As I remember earth day, it seemed to be a pacifying act during the Nixon era that conveniently coincided with a secret (at first) diversion into Cambodia. Nixon more than earned the moniker "Tricky Dick". Further, I see Obama as more centrist and bowing over backwards trying to get republicans on board for anything he can and yet a strong resistance regardless of how much he compromises. He has been portrayed as the Antichrist and as a Socialist. He is neither. I wish we had a Social Democrat party equally funded with Republicans and Democrats. I loved Social Democrat counties I lived in years ago.
