On the surface, The Family will continue to change and adapt, but the core pathology of a leadership that promoted child abuse and the victimization of vulnerable members--a core pathology that goes on to deny what it did and refuses to rectify the wrong--that rotten core of bad leadership decision-making and stinkin' thinkin' will continue to manifest itself in a variety of ways. Perhaps it won't be as colorful as prostituting oneself for Jesus, but there will continue to be leadership initiatives and directives that are fundamentally cruel, exploitative, inhumane, and life-denying.
Doesn't it bother anyone that Family missionaries are taught to pray against their enemies? My own beliefs about prayer suggest to me that it's a very, very bad thing for human affairs when people consciously, willfully and energetically put hurtful intentions into the cosmic flow. Even if God doesn't listen, isn't it possible all that negative mental energy may not be good for children and other growing things?
