M&P are still in charge--that comes through loud and clear. A crucial change would be for them to step down so that new leaders could be elected by the membership. Oh yeah, and they could provide the tithing membership with an accounting of the organization's current finances. That would be a real change, too. Guess they aren't ready for much of a change at the top just yet.
With only 6,000 adult tithing members, they've got to restructure the organization in a way that allows for some creativity and innovation. There will be more elimination of dead wood in this process. Too bad M&P aren't likely to go in the first round of reorganization. Those most likely to get squeezed out right now are in WS and the middle and lower eschelons of leadership.
