Historically it has always been the modern type of freemasonic and illuminist factions who operate using this strategies. In TF it was used from the very onset.
Information flow goes one way only, from below to the top. Whatever comes the other way is essentially only lies and propaganda, to keep people dedicated to an illusion.
The question is, why would TF use the same cover-up schemes as these outfits?
