You're making the mistaken assumption that Denise's mother left the group without "her three children", when the article never clearly states that. In fact Ilda left The Family with Denise, who was only a small baby at the time. She later returned to collect the other two children, as stated in the article. So even if Ilda really did leave in March 1992 as you state, (the article says "about") she would've only been 14 months old.
But hey, if you want to count little babies as being brought up in The Family, that's up to you.
