On your first point: before this incident, Farmer was already habitually posting outside of the guidelines, but always considered it unfair whenever we pointed it out to him. He has an admitted mandate to "be a witness to exers," as someone else put it, which is beyond the scope of our boards. While we encourage people to share their journeys, we cannot and do not support such a personal agenda.
On your second point: when "Davida" posted with an allegation against a "Farmer," what we were dealing with was two online personae unrelated to any legal names. We didn't take it too seriously, because accusations that carry any weight and truth to them usually involve people properly identifying themselves and the alleged perpetrator, and furnishing details, such as names, place, time, situation, etc. When none of these were elaborated on or followed up on when queried, we wrote it off as a probable attempt at provocation. We let the situation play itself out and although We expected Farmer to be upset, we also expected him to be mature enough to write it off as a mere anonymous provocation. He is after all an experienced board user and knows how the weaknesses of such an open forum can be exploited.
On that point, we were expecting at any moment, to see just the very kind of comment that you posted to us: pity that your forum is unreliable. It wouldn't be the first time people have used our boards to provoke fights and then turned around and accused us of enabling the situation.
