It would seem to me that Christianity also gives an alter/reality to life, as you mentioned that Buddhism and Hinduism do. Aren't many Christians motivated to do good by the fear of punishment in the after-life, and aren't they also motivated to do good by hope of receiving greater rewards in the afterlife? "Be faithful unto death and I will give you a crown of life" "They that be wise shall shine..." "Blessed are you have not seen and yet believe..." "I have gone to prepare a place for you..." and of course if you don't believe that Jesus is the Son of God or you don't receive Him as your Savior you cannot have part of this Heaven He speaks about.
