MG, you all may not remember me but I remember you two from decades ago while in Switzerland and I am glad the two of you got out. It's amazing to me when I see there are people that managed to stick together in spite of TF. Glad you two were the 'half-hearted' leaders that you were so that you didn't shepherd those people like you were supposed to and you have the positive relationship that you have today with that couple.
I remember litnessing days when we were encouraged to tell people we worked with drug addicts to raise funds. The rationalization was that many people who joined had used drugs before joining and since the funds were helping us therefore we WERE helping drug addicts.
I remember feeling bad about that but then feeling I was wrong for feeling bad about it, in that upside down world of The Scamily.
God, it's good to be out from under all that oppression.
Did we ever do good works? Yeah. But very little and there are so many legitimate organizations out there that are doing so much more and not scamming people while at it. Not to mention that the few good works were paled to death compared to the damage done by the Cult.
If I was young and healthy I would love to be involved in something like Doctors Without Borders. Something that actually does REAL humanitarian work.
The best I can do now, because I do like to do things that are positive in the community, is I like to work with animals.
