There is a lot of truth to that. I used to piss off Chinese chefs by ordering vegetarian food. One time I made them swear the only non-meat dish on the menu, a soup of some kind, was indeed 100% vegetarian. It tasted strange, and I found out they used pork fat.

The son of my Chinese friend I mentioned, is a chef himself, and he used to work in Chinese kitchens, and he is full of stories about how the Chinese think vegetarians are "stupid anorexic monkeys who don't know what what is good for themselves" and deserve to be tricked into eating meat, lest they starve themselves to death. This is a culture in which the commonest greeting is not hello, but "have you eaten?" I am told it i because of their long history of many famines and hardships, and that one of their biggest fears in life is to go hungry.

Well I used to be a vegetrian, but then I realized I was a hypocrite for wearing leather. Then I discovered sushi and started eating fish. I never claimed to have all the answers to the universe and every philosophy is full of holes. I realized I was willing to eat things that werent cute and furry. Then I started with chicken. Now I am one of those annoying people you describe.
