May be you heard already about Berlin's most famous little bear, icebear Knut, rejected by his mother, taken care now by his foster "mum"...above
some links..also about the nasty discussion, started by some so called animal activists/protectors, whether Knut shouldn't rather be put to death...they think of his futur fate etc. I say, I am thankful, that he already lived that long, cheering up so many people, including me...there you have activists with a dogma, about what is supposed to be right...well, what about being in a zoo in the first place?...there is less & less space for wild animals to live in peace & to take refuge too...Knut has no right to live in the name of animal protection?...I think that is weird.

Just to say: I love animals too...but sometimes people overestimate their chances with those "little pet lions & bests" & land in a hospital.
We don't have yet the Isaiah 11 scenario...

As a little advise, I personally follow: don't trust opinions of supposed or real Christians to be per se/automatically conform to the biblical
outline/point of view. It's safer to read it up yourself - if you care - & compare one exegetical expert with another, even of different confessions
an interlinear Bible Greek/English etc. can also be a great help...

The question you asked, wasn't really on my agenda as most important issue (there are some things which made me search for years, to gain some peace (of mind) about some interpretation/dogma...)but I'd say it's an important one

You know for Berg/TF there were/are pets in heaven...
why didn't you ask for trees..Jo ; ) at least there are some beasts around the throne (Rev. 4),
further I am not sure, but I am inclined to say it could/should be: animals in heaven(would have to be pure though, only the pure in heart etc.)...then you have Isaiah as some comfort, but rather the situation outside of New Jerusalem.

What about the spirit now: Well, it talks about breath/spirit/ruach in Ecclesiastes 3:19 onward..
in 19 we'll find, what you adressed...but it is put with a question mark.I find that noteworthy.

The same word you find in Genesis 6:3 it's about
spirit in men...Psalm 104 talks a lot about animals & in verse 29: "thou takest away their breath (same word as above), they die, and return to their dust.
Another verse mentions also spirit/breath/ruach
in the flesh in general: Job 34:14,15...there it talks about gathering the spirit unto him/God

So down to earth goes definetely the flesh...better the physical body & back to Him, the spirit...I guess it's "natural" that it goes back to Him...

a bit baffling is Psalm 104: 30 Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth...either it's a forecast...of things to come...new earth & beings
& animals or what? The spirits of animals once dead coming back when in what?...

Sorry, but about heavenly bodies I only know for
"the sons of man"...not that I know of mentioning animals...but they definetely have the spirit/ruach of God...according to what I was reading now.

Just saw a documentary/made movie about Krakatau, the explosion of the volcano. There was a foreigner family living at the nearby lighthouse, they had a dog...just before the tidal wave, the tsunami hit the lighthouse & smashed it, the dog ran uphill, the mother searched for it & was spared.Something similar I heard about the Tsunami
in Indonesia/Thailand/Sri Lanka...few animals died...comparatively speaking...cause they were heading sooner to safer grounds.

And sure I love the stories about the faithfulness of dogs & how dolphins saved humans quite often etc. etc.
