It would be nice, if you'd explain your take & def. of being civil....on a marketplace in the middleeast with all the bargaining & sometimes cheating are all the conversations polite?...yet they are "civil"...civiliens happen to have emotions...I have them & have been plenty sorry about them...but they are there...I appreciate people who are extremely wise and cultivated....but I don't copy them like a sweet puppy dog & when puppy is older...it might also bark.I also appreciate people which are very outspoken...BB doesn't annoy me with the lingo, rather with the train of thoughts...that's the main difference. My colleagues happen to be simple workers, so I learned to often take the brunt of things...it's easier, then being stabbed (physically)...isn't it?I mean, we shouldn't be so fragile either to not being able to take a "word" here & there.Like I said before, it's all about the contents...I like to hear people with different opinions; my library gets right now filled with books which have
the epistle of Romans as a theme.I want to know, how others see it.
If people can help me in a "cultivated" way, all the better, if they do it in a not so "nice" way, it's also ok, if they have a very valid point...difficult it becomes, when people don't have too much of a point, plus being rude, that's where I have the least patience...and yes, with that certain pride being left within me, I might bark before I really stop & pause & ponder...could still happen and has happened, of which I am n o t proud.BB can ramble about the fallibility of Christ, it's his opinion...I do know what I believe & what I owe to Jesus & real Christians I met in my life especially after TF...it's way enough to endure another world of BBs.
I just read in a news magazine the reaction of the Muslim world to the suggested knighting of Salman Rushdie. The mag made the comparising remark, that
Jesus & the Christians had to endure all kinds of
malice and blasphemy without them resorting to any fatwah/killing the critics thinking...well, that's true & in the meantime much has to be endured - not to be compared with other times though, I think - but I am still convinced, that with words you can "pay back" at times what has been meted out...answering a fool according to his foolishness. There shouldn't be any personal big insults, as the person is to be respected, even if the opinion doesn't merit the same respect. If I crossed that line I am sorry & I shall reread my comments & ponder about it, whether they are to "heavy", too insulting, which I wouldn't want...
