Jo, I appreciate your post for it's "revolutionary" style...pardon me please...as it could happen to be a buzz word...sorry...I mean it
"light"version-like...well, from all I read/know,Hitler never quit his membership with the CC, but that is just a bureaucratic thing & just a simple remark...in essence he was probably not much of Catholic, yet he didn't seem to have been an atheist. For right now I think he was cooking up something for himself or let it be cooked up by some odd fellows he appreciated...I guess it's
still not very clear.Just recently some German researcher published a book about the letters Hitler received from the general public. He found them in the archives of Moscow.I think there will still be a bit more light shed on the issue of his "nuttiness", but then will all be clear?...I wonder a bit...I am not anymore this conspiracy-theory-disciple, meaning sensing it everywhere, but I think plenty people behind the scenes know more than the GP...& my happiness doesn't depend on that knowledge.
Jo,I have a hard time saying somebody is or is not a Christian. If someone says so it could very well be...Simon the magician was even baptised, but I guess not really a follower of Christ...this is a judgement I rather not make or not easily...unless Berg heavily felt sorry & repented, I have doubts about his salvation too...but I rather not speculate about his last moments on earth.Sure his deeds...especially in later times...contradicted much of his profession.
For sure he was no prophet & if a false one...about being born again /saved I let someone else defend or accuse him...I take refuge in not judging for the time being. In that regard Hitler is even worse off than Berg...not that I know of that he ever proclaimed to have been born again etc.
The problem with nutty christian religionist is...even as Paul says...they give the Christian cause a bad name among the non/notyet-believers...therefore they are a stumblingblock & an offense for many...that's why I think some greater public apology for exers with remaining faith is in that regard also important...& in general it's good for us.
And all the other nutcases convince some to the
stance, they should distance themselves altogether
from everything that has to do with faith in God...& the transcendental.I figure that is understandable for what some people had to go through, yet it's not the solution IMO.
Wish you the very best..
