Assumptions? I never made even one assumption in my post. Read it again.

Describing what we were taught in the cult is not an assumption. Nor is stating that there are many similarities between TF and mainstream evangelicals. That is simply a fact, as is stating that it is hard to distinguish between the cult's child-rearing practices and James Dobson's, for example. Not a single assumption in my post.

Instead of falsely claiming I make wrong assumptions, why don't you instead point out specific ways in which my observation of the similarities between TF and evangelicals with regard to child-rearing is wrong?

Instead of hypocritically putting me down with one breath and praying for me with the next, why don't you answer the question I posed and explain how the teachings of Dobson and his ilk regarding children are different from TF's?

Btw, you can keep your prayers to yourself, they are wasted on me.

Despite what you may think, I do not post here with you in mind. My observations were about TF and my own recovery from indoctrination. I can't help it if you were offended in the process.

I suspect your hit-dog reaction is similar to mainstream Mormons who object to being associated with Fundamentalist Mormons who still practice polygamy. The mainstream Mormons can argue till they're blue in the face that they are two distinct groups, but the public, for the most part, will not make that distinction. Their doctrines are so similar in so many respects that the distinctions are lost on most people.
