I didn't follow this thread completely,but it brought to mind Madilyn Murray O'Hair, the famous US atheist who did her part to remove prayer from Us schools in the early 60s. She had a son William J Murray whom she raised as am atheists and who later became a Christian, one of those terrible mainstream Evangelicals at that. When he converted in 1980 his mother reportedly stated, "I repudiate him entirely and completely for now and all times" and added "One could call this a postnatal abortion on the part of a mother, I guess." For me this quote speaks volumes coming from the mouth of one of the world's famous atheists.
