You wrote that you were "shocked to see how nationalised the Combos there were, with hardly any foreigners."

Who were the leaders of these combos--Americans/Europeans or Indians?
Who were ther overseers (Area Shepherds, Visiting Servants, etc)?

My bet is they were still Americans or Europeans, or at the most shared-power schemes like a couple or a threesome leadeship team where only one of them was a local.

Yo wrote, "Berg was totally bent on demoting his own kids" and that he did this out of having "certain principles for whatever reason."

I'd venture to say he demoted his children because they were the competition. The only principal he lived by was "remove the competition." The Mo Letters are full of examples of him doing that from time to time to virtually all the top leadership, except Zerby. Whenever they got comfortable and took too much initiative or assumed to take responsibility for too many decisions, WHAM!
