Interesting & sad what you had to say about your (first) wife...depending on the culture cum religion you grow up in, the answers to "why" are different...if she had been born in India, they would tell her, that due to karma...sowing...she does/did now/then some reaping...and so on...I don't think she is really a convinced atheist!?...just sour & bitter towards God...though I can relate to that to some bigger degree...yet it doesn't make Him disappear...just because I have the head in the sand...plus the current world is a singularity according to their (atheist's) thinking, a "miracle" in the world of probabilities...any atheist would have to think, too bad, some electrons in my life got bumped by something else, so my life took a crash as chainreaction...& the consolation is: to live well here & now - if one gets that chance - & then disappear into nothingness from where we came...although never fully knowing, if yet there isn't something more all the while after death...more than just nothing...but that thought can be "drowned" in the activities of the here & now : (
& all those lost years...oh s.hit ...no consolation for that
Well, my consolation is, that I got a pretty good idea now, how deception works...plus nobody can tell me, that the unbelieving world lives without delusions...long story.
