Mt. 13 is really one of my favourite chapters or the parable of the sower and the seed one of my favourite (I stressed that tons of times towards my children)...to me it explains a whole lot.
There is a certain type of weed which looks like wheat, but it isn't...therefore the householder tells his servants not to attempt to pull out the weed/tares but to let them grow up together...Many (false??!!) Christians were infamous in history, trying to uproot all kinds of
supposed or real evil by some force...many attempts look like straight from OT...but not from NT.
Anyway, it's not my turn to criticise the householder for his dealings with the tares later.
Pretty deep discussion regarding the book of life vs. the Lamb's book of life you find here: (Berg also had three categories in mind..not just those in the city and those in the lake of fire)
I do realise, that there are other testimonies at youtube...even mentioned some of them recently here...where people left their whatever degree of Christian faith for something else.
For Israel the abomination was...knowing so intimately God's dealings with them and them making a golden calf etc....likewise the great offense against the Holy Spirit has been, that the scrribes etc. saw /heard about all the miracles of Jesus and explained them with Him having a devil
So I am not familiar with Cat Stevens and Bob Dylan's real ex-faith in Jesus...though I heard rumours of the latter case...nothing precise though.
If you permit me saying that:I pity though Cat Stevens
