True. I guess I was thinking more of the actual CRIMES Berg committed like sex with his own granddaughter and how he once quoted the verse, "Woe to you teachers for unto you shall be the greater condemnation" cause I think he was realizing that he had taught some extremely crappy doctrines and though he justified in his mind that they were pure and right, he had this sinking feeling deep inside that God was going to get him for that.
Or where he once told Maria that God might judge him because he was "so sexy." Now think about that. Here's the guy who made wives out of every woman who got near him, signed off on the Story of Davidito, promoted FFing and sharing and the whole baggage that went with all that, yet he's got this sinking feeling (and it slips out of his mouth) that God will judge him for being "too sexy". I think his gut instincts told him he was in trouble and maybe he was drunk at the time or he'd never have let it slip out.
So THESE were the crimes and sins that he was hoping his good works would outweigh.
