pah ! Simply not true !
A country, elects a Italian catholic as the highest chair ( prime minister ) who gives it away to a Sikh - who takes oath from a Muslim President , in a country that is 80 % Hindu !
And in case someone doubts gender equality - this catholic and our current president of india are both ladies !
Now name me any other country in a world where there is such tolerance !
India very much like all countries is tolerant and intolerant, both ! but the intolerance is far worse in other countries ! Any incidents of Indian violence over religion is incited by usually outsider poltical forces, not from the area, for political gain, it is not started the simple villagers who normally get along fine ! The violence is caused by hot tempers more than religious intolerance ! Trust me , I am Indian, I know ! We talk freely about religion and criticise also our own religions , we do not discriminate and hate each other !
