Incidentaly, I doubt current Family members would even pick your Ichabod illustration since they don't read their Bible anymore. Should they do it, they would have already found out about the link between God's will and the real doctrines of the real Jesus, not to mention about trying the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world...
That's why I wonder about their christianity.
