Hi Jules! Thanks for the various posts.
I also think the most effective way to dismantle the family is through information disbursement regarding their overall history, practices and values. I believe dealing with criminal members of the family, past and present, should happen on an individual basis with consultation and support for the individuals pressing complaints who are survivors of the familkey's abuse. My focus here is regarding the criminal aspects of individual member's behaviour and the ways and means of preserving confidentiality. In my opinion, good faith complaints about past crimes from any third party should take place in the proper arena, the justice system through the filing of a criminal complaint. Every time an individual discloses specific indentifying facts to the general public over the abuse of individual minors
there a breach of confidentiality takes place and is a disservice to the individual(s) abused.
Although adults may have the right to make harmful or criminal choices their rights do not remove the hurt of their actions or the nature of their acts. Criminal statutes and codes are meant to put reasonable limits on this freedom of choice we all have. If we as an ex member community do not respect the spirit of these laws that preserve rightful confidentiality what have we become? I am not talking so much about withholding the truth of the family but more about personal integrity regarding specific situations. I agree with much of your post Jules and I and I believe that your assessment of older ex members is based on presenting behaviour rather than a preset, bulk view of FGs, as implied by a recent post by another ex member.
I can only speak for myself but I am ready to hear whatever feedback SG's have for us. The family doctrines wrecked a lot of lives and I really hope all of our loved ones can get back their lives in some way. I think Moving On has made a positive difference in many lives, including mine, and I appreciate how much work that has required from you and your associates over the years.
Sincerely
Rocky
