I don't think your complaining about 'patriarchal' dominance in the Family has much bearing, since all society is patriarchal and has always been that way--NO exceptions on ANY societal level, anywhere on the planet, EVER. The ONLY exceptions to men ruling occur on the individual level as with a Queen Victoria or Golda Meir and they are ALWAYS surrounded by men.
All this balderdash about matriarchal societies is simply pseudo-hitory and exists only in the imaginations of the femminist writers who conjurred it up.
However, there is a place where these "idyllic Lost Matriarchal Paradise Societies of the dim mists of pre-history" are taught as gospel truth and that is the "Women's Studies" of most colleges and universities. The idea behind this charade seems to be this: They (falsely) reason,"since all religion is myth and the myth's become reality to the people, well, then, we'll just invent NEW myths and soon they too will become reality". If you have been caught up in this stuff you may need deprogramming.
