Tom,
I get the impression that you are somewhat sympathetic to the family. I urge you to be cautious with these people. They may seem to be wonderful people, and some of them are sincere, but they are sincerely deceived. These people are wolves in sheep's clothing. Don't be fooled by Karen Zerbe's words of apology. She isn't sorry for the evil deeds committed, she is only sorry she got caught.
These people are pathological liars, and will say and do almost anything to achieve their goals. They believe that the ends justify the means.
You say you believe that they teach the Bible and are real Christians. This is not the case. The most effective lie is that which contains a little truth. It's kind of like a sugar-coated poison pill...it tastes good on the outside, but it will kill you.
